Particularly, as the rotational speed of an electric motor becomes higher and the detection precision thereof becomes higher, the occurrence of the erroneous detection of the rotating state of the motor is becoming more problematic.
For example, when a motor is rotating, there are portions that are not rotating in some cases. In such portions, the detection of the rotating state of the motor is performed on the basis of differences between the phases of the detected voltages, and an erroneous detection may occur.
In order to avoid such a problem, the speed of the motor or the accuracy of the output of the position detector (the phase difference) is increased, and the speed and accuracy of the output of the position detector is increased.
However, when the speed of the motor is increased, the torque thereof is decreased, and accordingly, the capability of the motor is degraded, and a new motor or a new drive circuit is required, and the cost becomes high. On the other hand, when the accuracy of the output of the position detector is increased, the structure of the position detector becomes complicated and the cost thereof becomes high.
There have been proposals for detecting only the rotating states of the motor.
